As you might notice by my lack of frequent posts, I have been otherwise occupied. Not only have I been very busy preparing this old house for our dear AFS Exchange daughter and her husband and two teen sons, but my back is worsening. I have to put my energy into preparations, shopping and cleaning, not painting or blogging. But, even so, I managed to take this painting for my friend a little closer to completion. I did reveal to my friend that this is in progress. I am sure she will be eagerly awaiting the results. I will resume my efforts on it after this exciting time for our family. I hope you can see the spirit and joy in this child’s eyes. A portrait painter’s responsibility is to make every effort to portray the personality in the work. I hope this is beginning to show. This painting has very special meaning for all the family and especially for my friend, the little girl’s grandma. This winter has been brutal but my class makes every effort to get here. We will gather tomorrow and then be off for a week or maybe two. I am so glad the sun is shining and the temps are going up slowly. See you tomorrow! Hugs, Diana
